Alain,
doesn’t that central vacuum drive you crazy when you are working in the garage. We have one and it seems my wife always decides to vacuum when I’m out there. Sometimes I think she does it on purpose.

Two days new to the site and just finding this thread. Amazing! My gosh, you move faster than many Oldsmobiles I’ve seen! If your still thinking about color I have to say I’m a bit partial to the black with red as that’s what I painted mine in 1985 at age 16 (over original pewter silver with black stripes). I think the black on black with red strips and redline tires would look incredible. However, platinum with the polished hubcaps and those slick chrome bumpers and the red stripe around the tires would also be really sharp! Can’t go wrong either way!

Yes the original wood grain was really bad.I have been cleaning cigar smoke or tar all over the car

Just a beautiful job. What an excellent thorough job on that car. I have such a soft sport for a 70 W-31. It was a shame when my brother's W-31 got completely totalled while parked on the side of the street. F-350 on top of the roof trying to get back down.

Scored some beautiful original 14x7 SS2 wheels so prep and painted them they will be going on the car

Why is the "E" missing from the heads?

Because we have magic heads?
The real reason is that one of the heads was no good 'Was Lucky to get 1971 G heads from friend Dick Rocket North
They are the sam as the E heads
But everything else was in great shape

Not new to restoration, but am somewhat new to Oldsmobile restorations. Helped on several over the years....

Your car is looking amazing. I certainly love watching a build from beginning to end.

I am collecting parts to do a 70 442, 4speed, AC, Convertible myself.... so I am paying close attention.
