'71 cutlass supreme convertible pro touring

so im new here. i came here because after a new computer and a move, i cant find my ROP password and its impossible to get back on there without it. my project is a '71 convertible my father bought new. it was garaged for 12 years after a blown head gasket and we did a mild rebuild (350 motor, rear end, wheels and tires)in '93. i cruised and raced the hell out of it for 3 years and garaged it again for another 14 years. circumstance finally arose where i could do some work to it again. in the last 3 years i have pulled the body, blasted and powder coated the frame and rear end(3:42 posi), installed a Hotchkis total vehicle system, Edelbrock IAS shocks, ARG 12:1 billet steering box, replaced all steering components, bought a 200 4R from a grand national, and got a 455 with J heads. i replaced the drivers side floor board and welded in patch panels in 8 different places throughout the cabin. next up is a left side trunk floor and tubular a-arms. i will use 18" wheels and not 100% sure what direction to go with the motor. here are some pictures through the years. the pictures date as follows: 1971, 1994, 2009, 2010

Welcome aboard! I have tried to become a member at ROP for 2 years now...I'm glad I found a home over here on CO. I hope you enjoy the site and the people. You'll see some familiar faces and some new ones but we're all helpful although you probably don't need it by the looks of it

Welcome. I love these stories where a car has been in the family since new and has been handed down. Interesting the car had dog dish hubcaps when new. That had to be rare on a convertible.

to make that matter even more interesting, the caps that it came with are the ones from '73. they are the ones that have just the rocket emblem in the middle. the ones it should of had say oldsmobile around them. my dad swears he never changed them.

Sounds like good build in the works. I am a fan of pro touring and I am going that route as well.
