Thanks Eddie! Getting the headliner installed next week, then off to the glass shop to install the windshield and back glass. All that’s left after that is recovering the buckets and a few tweaks here and there. Finish up just in time to put her away for the winter🙃. Happy New Year!!

I opted to install Silvertown Redline radials and 15x7 SSI wheels for cruising and improved drivability; however, she will be wearing the bias ply Wide Ovals, Glade Green Steel Wheels and NOS Poverty Caps come SHOWTIME!!

Glass to be installed this week and one more bucket to rebuild and I’ll be done. Almost a year to the day from when I picked it up😊

Looks great! I may have missed it, but where did you get the stainless trim for the post/windows? Mine is kinda faded, and I honestly hadn't even paid attention to it until it was pointed out at Nats.

Fortunately NOS moldings had already been installed on the frames when I purchased the car. Try Tim Murphy (69442murph) or Dave Arthofer (Dave442); They should have some.

I recall when you made contact to purchase this car, but apparently, I lost track of the thread shortly after that point in time. Glad I saw your post today as it gave me an opportunity to reconnect and to review the progress.

It's been a trip for sure; however, the car turned out stunningly beautiful and looks to be a perfect 10. I’m sure you are quite proud of the 442, as you should be. I trust you have a long and rewarding relationship with your car. Happy Motoring!

Great Work! Give yourself a pat on the back! Are you doing the seats yourself? Or did you decide to farm that out?

I'm really good at taking things apart, but not so much on putting them back together. I'm having a local upholstery guy reassemble the seats with new buns, spring repair, muslin cloth, burlap, listing wire, etc. Thanks for your encouraging comment!

Oh, so close to completion! Windshield, back glass and all moldings were installed over the weekend. Front buckets are completely assembled and ready to go in the car. Then it's back to the restorer to sort out a few things, align the front end and charge the A/C. Just in time for Spring Cruisin'!!

Very Excited She's Almost Done!

Back Glass & Moldings Installed

High school car

Buddy, your car is looking absolutely amazing. Congratulations.
I’m curious was your car that you had as a kid a post top or hardtop?

Thank you! My high school car was a 4487 hardtop and had 934 Ivy Gold interior. This is the closet car I’ve found to that one in the past 20 years.

She’s off to the restoration shop for the final “punch list” items to be sorted out. That Glade Green Metallic paint really pops in the afternoon sun here in N.C.!

Finally saw the light of day this afternoon! Took a couple of pics at the restoration shop where final tweaks are underway. Hopefully picking it up next weekend...

That's a beautiful color and looks great on the car. I'm very envious of your front buckets. They look fantastic. I have a couple of questions regarding things I see in your pictures:
1) Looks like there's a decal on your washer bottle. What is that for? I'm not aware of any stickers or decals on the '69 washer bottle.
2) Is the cowl vent cover on your car original or a reproduction? Both of my '69's have stamped/formed wire mesh covers. I've seen reproduction houses offering a plastic cover but I don't think I've ever seen one on a car but it looks like that's what yours has. Just curious.

Thanks for your comments! The washer bottle was shipped directly to and installed by my restorer and, frankly I hadn’t noticed the decal on it; probably should have been removed prior to installation. The cowl does have a mesh screen beneath, but the grille is a repro made of plastic. There are very few non-OEM parts on the car, but that is one of them.

Thanks for the response. You probably know this but the cowl doesn't need both covers. The wire mesh is all that is supposed to be there. I guess if you want to keep the plastic over top of it there's no reason you have to remove it. The SSI's really compliment the green.
