My opinion is do not paint the caps period. It would be cool to put so many wheels on that car with that fresh Blue. I grew up around lowriders and soulful cars. That car with wires would kill it in that direction. I would be patient. I would stay stock. Cragers or Torque Thrusts would be a cool old school look if you go custom.

I say ultimately do what you want. if your going for a certain look and like the black than cool. or want to keep it more original looking Than cool Also. whatever you do Do what you'll be happy with. Is it something you might regret doing later? Think about it. My 2 cents

Oh cool! To be frank my car is put on hold because I quit my job and am trying to find another and while I'm looking I'm painting my brothers car for some money and I've been spending all my time on that. My front windshield was leaking so I popped the outer trim off to silicone were it was leaking just as a crutch till I get the time to reseal it and when popping the trim back on I used an orange rubber/ plastic mallet and put a big Ole crack in the corner of the glass and if that's not bad enough I took it for a ride last Thursday and because it's so low the Trans pan scrapes speed bumps, (I didn't know that) I thought it was tire scrub so I flew over a couple and went home and peeped my rear view and low and behold smoke! At first I thought it was burning oil. I pulled over and checked "sh**!!! Theres fluid pouring out the pan where it seals!! " I flew home because I was really close but by the time I put it in reverse the Trans is shot...... now I'm depressed about that. Good news is I have a th350 in the garage Ive been needing to install but didn't want to because I have a four speed in now 2004r and didn't want to go back to 3 speed. 2004r is a piece of sh** btw.. so long story short it's good kick in the a** to do it. I just need to find the time... I had fun burning rubber though 😜she's a Beast!

I also installed dyna Matt or some other brand that's supposed to be just as good. It makes it so much nicer to drive, it gives off that warm aggressive tiger sound.

Oh nice. Yeah thanks, me too. Yeah there OK but I read th350 is bullet proof. My 2004r was slipping before I scraped the pan and wouldnt shift properly when manually shifting and my brothers 2004r only lasted about a year before completely loosing the ability to shift Maybe we're just to hard on em.. Love the overdrive though

The TH350 is not bulletproof stock, not even close. I sat as 13 year old in our 75 Cutlass 4 door as the TH350 went up in smoke. I also picked up a 76 Cutlass with 150,000 miles for $50 because the TH350 was shitting the bed. Both were a whooping 165 HP remember. I have killed nearly as many TH250/350's as the TH2004R. It is cheaper to build and get right. I like the gearing and lock up on the TH2004R, about the best of any 4 spd auto. How much did you drop the car? The height must be a problem and probably will be with a TH350 as well. That Windshield would have need pulled and replaced anyways but still sucks. The car is looking great BTW. Good luck on the job hunt.

The Stoutness of turbo 350 from mid 70s to 80s was on the cheap side. They could get way it because engine horsepower and Emphasis on luxury. You can build one to your specific needs or order one from Summit racing ready to go.

My 350 has performance parts and a shift kit installed so i should be good there and the car is now lowered 3 inches front and 2-2/2 rear with technically 26 tires but measure more like 25 so it's pretty low I know now that I'll just have to take it easy over bumps with the new tranny in, it only hits when I bump it pretty good so I shouldn't have a problem. Yeah I did need to reseal the glass anyway. Thanks, the funny part is I here and see signs everywhere that everyone is hiring but when I go in in person they say we don't need anyone anymore the positions are filled so. 🤔.... Good news Is there's one place the guy knows me and said he could give me some work if need be. Only a couple hours a day though so I want to try to find something with fuller hours first.
