Colorado Newbie

Been lurking a while, just joined. I'm in the market for a 67 442 Holiday coupe. My Grandpa bought one new for my uncle and I always wanted that car. Sadly it sits in a barn in Ohio, literally rotting away with a spun bearing. There don't seem to be many 442's in Colorado so I'm searching nationwide hence this site.

Welcome

Welcome aboard

I'd go get it too even if just to sell it here.

Sorry, I had posted that in the wanted forum. Now that I have dug out these old pic's Of my uncles, I'm not sure there is much left. Sorry about the crappy photo's, but this is around 1981 with a kodak insta-matic. I could only imagine the cancer now.

So what's he gain by not selling or giving it to you? When he finally goes to his reward, is he going to be buried in it?

You're right, though, in that over the 30 years since those photos were taken, the car might have become pretty much nothing but iron oxide by now.

Welcome to CO, Colorado newbie, and congratulations on the new purchase! Damn shame about the "one in the barn"!!! When will, if ever, people learn that after 30 years they are probably not going to restore it???

He has always stated he is going to restore it, but I don't think his wife will ever let that happen.

Thanks starr88. I'll keep it in mind, but we got this one home last night (25 hour day) and there are some things that need to be taken care of on her. I'll be busier than I thought I would, but that's ok.

I need some help with my cowl tag. Looks like it was a factory bench car (has buckets no console) Curious about the paint code, is it supposed to have 442 stripes? and the E 2ER 33. I have no clue. Any help?

Has a 3.23 10 bolt anti spin, TH400. and correct block and head numbers. I couldn't be happier with it overall.
It needs springs in a bad way, I need to rod out the radiator and lots of little odds and ends. 67sportscoupe008.jpg
