Hello

Greetings from a "newbie". I learned about the CO site from the "From My Point of View" article in the June '10 JWO magazine, penned by Aron Nance (a fellow member of the North Texas Olds Club).
I live in The Colony, TX - about 20 mi north of Dallas. I'm in the process of having a '68 442 4-spd restored (body/paint) after having previous engine work done.
I've enjoyed reading posts on the CO website, which have revealed how helpful and friendly the members are. The photos of member's Oldsmobiles are great as well. There's just something about a Rocket.
Signing off - just wanted to send my first post and introduce myself.

Welcome to the site! Please post some pictures of your car when you can. There are lots of 1968 owners on this site, so please share some of the details of your restoration. John

Great to see another '68er join the club! Lots of expertise at this site - be sure to use it if you run into any stumbling blocks. I've gotten, and continue to receive, lots of help from those "in the know" at this site. Welcome aboard!

Thanks so much for the friendly replies. I need to study the site a bit more to determine how to attach photos. I'll give it a shot here. If it works, the photo is of the "before" picture of the 442.
The car looks pretty good in the photo. It's amazing what paint can cover up.
There were a few rust bubbles growing near the bottom of the fenders/quarters, which I thought would be relatively inexpensive and quick to correct. When the paint was removed, ugghh!, especially the rear quarters. Being a 4-spd and not having the original engine, I'm assuming it wore larger tires and was raced at one time.
So, the project is taking much longer than anticipated (like this note - sorry), but is progressing.
