Ugh @ Midas Muffler

This exhaust is driving me up a wall! This the second time within the last month that the weld has broke at the newly installed crossover and the Muffler is flipping sideways.

Me thinks someone can't weld. The weld should not break at all if the material is good and the weld is done right.

I wanted y'all to say that first, lol. Brand new crossover, pipe sleeve, I don't see what the problem is either? I do know that its stressing the rest of the exhaust at the crossover connection at the exhaust manifold. Ugh!!!

I am a fan of the wraparound stainless clamps. Give a little for expansion. They can be found in overlap sizes as well.http://www.apexhaust.com/uploads/cat...s_APEC0808.pdf

Ouch, I got dismissed from Midas and I had work for them. They want me to schedule a appt, lol. I had originally went to Midas and had heat riser gasket changed. Midas techs didn't know how heat riser worked and I blew out gasket again. Had it changed again under warranty and blew that gasket out. The crossover flange was worn from rust, so I had to purchase a new crossover in order for Midas to do the repair work. In that time I found this site and asked about operation of the heat riser. I got some excellent knowledge of the heat riser now. I had exhaust work done again and then the weld didn't hold and muffler dropped and tilted. Went and they welded it back up. Had to take back again today because weld broke again. Ugh!!! I've had a couple oil changes there and have gotten know the techs a lil bettter. I've spent about $500 cash there and I have to schedule an appt to have blower motor switch looked at.

Midas just welded it back up. I asked them about those clamps. I have to pay for them.
