1965 425 swap maybe ??
Hi , the engine in my Dynamic has low compression in cyl 5 so i figure what to do. Fully rebuild of this
engine is the same cost that the whole car . Maybe a check in the engine and hoping cylinder bore is
ok , engine starts easy , no noise , have oil pressure and no heating issues.
Have seen Oldsmobiles here with other engines and also diesel engines , i have read that all Olds 455
engines fit directly in my Dynamic but they are not so common here.
So i figure best way to go , of course i wish i could keep the 425 depending on rebuilding cost. But any
other engine suggestions for a easy swap who could fit transmission ?

Put air in the cylinder and see where it leaks, through the carb/intake, out the exhaust and/or out of the breather. It could be a burned valve and/or stuck rings. If the rings are stuck try a chemical ring soak for a few days before a rebuild if you wish.
That is a big car, you'd probably be happier with a big block 425 or 455.

I have tried air with both valves closed and the air
leaks down in the oilpan. Have tried some chemicals but it pooring down to the oilpan directly.
Have zero compression in cyl 5 .
yes a bigblock would be nice
