1978 Delta 88 Build
So im hoping soon to start my build on my delta 88 in the next few weeks after all this snow melts and its warm enough to start going out and finding parts. Any of you guys have suggestions for motor mounts while swapping out a 350 olds for a 400 sbc?

the 350 in it is a terd, and a sbc swap will be perfect for what im doing with the car. Plus im getting the 400 the price of splitting some wood for a guy. Also there's more aftermarket parts cheaper for sbc

Its all relative. I have built some small block olds on a tight budget but if you are getting a 400 all you gotta do is find the motor mounts from a 305 of the same era and run em. You may have to move the frame mounts. I would then treat it like a chevy and find a chevy forum for the engin info. Most guys here are die hard olds.

I moved your thread to the non-olds powered forum because of your Chevy transplant.
I put a BBC in my A body so I'm familiar with the most of the requirements. Your going to need a Chevy transmission also. I'm not sure what frame brackets will work on your car, but if Redoldsman is correct then it's a no brainer. You will need all the accessory brackets for the sbc, and a few wiring and plumbing changes.

I had a 350 sbc in a 79 pontiac boneville I had to relocate the frame mounts not sure if its the same for olds but the 305's also came in the pontiacs. The weird part is we took out a buick 350 and installed an olds 350 in my dads 77 pontiac bonville and we didn't have to move the frame mounts. Just my experience.
