Hvac Heat 1970 Olds 98
Hey folks, attemping to get my son some heat in his car. I was able to get the Fan to function by rewiring it with a new switch and Fuse, but we have no heat, It blows cold nomatter what setting the dial is on. I am going to flush the heater core out this weekend to rule that out, It has a new thermostat and does come to temperature. So any suggestion on how to get the heat switch to function or the valve to supply heat to the heater core would be awesome

That's a Comfortron. The lever should have OFF, AUTOMATIC LO and HI, VENT and DEICE positions. It's a completely different animal and there are any number of things that will make a Comfortron go wacky.
Not trying to discourage you but you have to have a good understanding of how it works. Do you have a 1970 Olds factory shop manual? The Comfortron has its own section if that tells you anything. You need it, as does anyone you might hire to work on the system.
In addition to checking the heater hoses as Joe suggests, make sure the AC system's vacuum source hoses are connected underhood. Look for a vacuum hose at rear of intake that goes to a vacuum storage ball, and that both hoses are connected to the vacuum ball. That will get you started, but if that doesn't get the system working you need the manual to understand what component does what and what might have failed.
Then there's finding the parts, but Oldsmobile Comfortron parts seem to be more common than the other Divisions. You'd think something as complex as a Comfortron would have been standardized across GM, but unfortunately not the case. Each Division tweaked it with their own things.
