Question Vacuum Advance Chamber Clearance Problem

I have a Mallory Unilite distributor with vacuum advance installed in one of my cars. The timing has been set and now the damn vacuum chamber points at the firewall. It is so close I can't connect a vacuum hose.

I've noticed most stock vacuum chambers have a 90 degree angle. Is it possible to swap out the vacuum chamber for a non-Mallory unit with the elbow?

You will need to find TDC and restab the distributor correctly and then rewire the cap.

X2. Pull the distributor, move the gear one tooth on the cam, reinstall, and retime.
