1955 Oldsmobile complete power steering set-up
I converted my power steering to manual, i have the complete set up, pump/steering gearbox/column/pitman arm/balancer/pulleys. Everything but the steering wheel.
Hydraulic parts useable but most likely will leak due to age of the seals.
Pictures available upon request, located in upstate NY, 12992
Shipping possible but most likely very expensive.
600.00$

I sold the one pictured but I’ve another
I have another one I could remove from my parts car, what is your time frame? It would be probably a few weeks on my end before I could pull it but it would be 100% complete.

I have no real time frame. Work on my car has been put on hold for most if this summer, but I want to get a jump on next year. Is the swap from manual to power steering rather straight forward, or would there be a lot of fabrication? Would the price be the same...$600. That is something I could do without a problem. I would have to find a weekend I could drive up to your town, I live in upstate NY as well....but not nearly as UPstate as you, you're practically in Canada!! So I'm not in any real hurry. Thanks for the response...Bob

No fabrication needed
It is very straight forward, the biggest pain is reconnecting all the linkage for the shifter, the actual selector part is easy but readjusting so that the gear selector needle inside the car lines back up to its perspective gear is a pain right in the ***. The bolt holes on the frame are the same between the two gearboxes and the mounting points to the lower dash are the same as well, lengths are also the same.
if you’d like to talk on the phone my number is 518-645-6486, and yes, I’m about ten minutes to the Canadian border on I87. I could even meet you half way if that makes things easier, I like the occasional road trip.
thanks,
Jesse
