Cool 1966 oldsmobile cutlass convertible treasure trove

Opportunity for an enthusiast to put together a 1966 Oldsmobile Cutlass two-door convertible! The frame and components are nearly done. Body work is close to done but needs to be painted. There are tons of top-of-the-line parts and virtually everything for putting the Cutlass together, as well as extra automotive car parts (e.g., parts for three engines, paint, upholstery, chassis, body, brakes, gas tank, headers just about everything is there). The work done thus far on the frame and suspension is beautiful. It is a frame off restoration in progress with no detail left undone. The Cutlass was being rebuilt with high performance parts. A few major details are listed below, but there is SO MUCH more!!

(1) A 1966 Oldsmobile Cutlass convertible body originally equipped with 330-inch V-8, air conditioning, power brakes, power steering, bucket seats, console, two-speed automatic, red on red with white top. The frame is still on the rotisserie, ready for painting...mini-tubbed and expertly repaired with steel patches and welding.

(2) A thoroughly custom, 495 cubic inch Oldsmobile short block w/steel crank, rods, forged pistons and roller cam installed and tuned for BIG horsepower and torque in the lower RPM ranges. Ported aluminum heads with BIG valves, extrude honed Oldsmobile tri-carb intake with three custom, re-worked 500 CFM Demon carbs and self-supporting MSD distributor.

(3) A full manual shift Turbo 400 transmission with Oldsmobile switch-pitch torque converter.

(4) Tuned, coated 2-inch headers.

(5) A Gear Vendors Overdrive that replaces the Turbo 400 tail shaft.

(6) A matching, assembled, reinforced 1966 Oldsmobile Cutlass convertible chassis with a complete 3:55 ratio, 9-inch Strange rear end with a Torsen differential, disc brakes, adjustable control arms with Heim bushings, narrowed and reinforced rear frame rails for mini-tubs, fully adjustable coil over shocks and rear stabilizer bar, corvette upper and lower tubular front control arms with disc brakes and fully adjustable front stabilizer bar. A custom manufactured G-Force transmission cross member provides additional lateral support and clearance for large exhaust and mounting for the overdrive.

(7) New black interior pieces from Legendary Interiors

(8) Complete rebuilt instrument cluster

(9) Steel body parts, glass, trim, and myriad items are also included.

This project was in progress. The costs for labor and parts for these items alone FAR exceed that of a new economy car. As a bonus, many more Oldsmobile/Cutlass engine parts, tools, and automotive related items are included with this sale. Everything must go as one lot. I would like to sell everything as a ‘package deal’ for $28,500 OBO that includes all the car components and MANY good quality tools for assembling it. Everything is currently in Rhode Island (northeast United States).
