1972 Olds 350

Anyone interested in my Olds 350 engine? It was running and had a knock. As it turns out one of the flex plate bolts was missing. That might have been all that was wrong. Engine ran reliably with knock for several month. Put it on Facebook marketplace for $500. Includes HEI distrib, edilbrock manifold and carb. Headers are from 87 cutlass that had an olds 350 in it. Belts, pulleys, wires, engine mounts, flexplate are included.
Let me know and thanks again to everyone for helping me get new engine up and running.
Kent

Based on the id # of the cylinder head in the photos, it is not a '72 engine; unless the heads were replaced at some point. The '72 would have a 7A (smaller font on the A). You may want to check the machined pad on the left front corner of the block to see what year it is.

Block casting is 395558 2 it is a 1968-70 block. The listing I was looking at from this site did not have listing for 71-72.
head casting number is 6 at #1 cylinder. That is listed as a 1970 head per this site. Since nothing is listed fir 71-72 it very probable that the head and block are original with the 1972 delta 88 is came out of.
let me know if your interested.

The bent filler tube was on the 69 I replaced this engine with. I swapped them. The bent filler is not original to the engine. Not sure about year. Heads are from 70 and block casting is 1968-70 but there was no casting number for block in 71-72 according to data on this site. So my bet is this engine is original to the 1972 delta 88 I pulled it from. Vin # is 72 delta 88 from NJ.
Are you interested in engine? Have a way to pick up?
thanks

Hi kent

while its true i need more stuff i already have a 72 350 i pulled from my car that i havent been able to find a new owner for in the past 3 years or so.

im also in mass, if no takers just hang onto it...evetually it will go. im entertaining rebuilding mine at some point in the future. I recently gave away a free working th400. It took a couple years for that to happen.

Love to get a 455. Then I’d have two 350s to sell.
the 350 I put in is now on the road, runs good had been
rebuilt with some kind of performance cam. I’m a hack mechanic
this was first time I’ve pulled an engine.
if you know any buyers let me know. $500 BO need
to clean out garage for spring.

Theres a guy on cl in i think bridgewater that seems to routinely advertise for old full size olds stuff, keep an eye there, ive got some OEM A body mirrors that looked similar to the pic you posted in another thread, im not confident they would work on your car tho. If you find something verify the angle of the mount on the door, from looking quick it seemed your mounting surface was closer to verticle while A bodies are generally closer to horizontal.

also bigin1978 on this site has some full size stuff might check in w him.

some other good sellers that might have mirrors are
2blu442, oldspackrat, or 442crzy, beenthere might have some really nice NOS or good used ones as well

ive seen several reviews of repop mirrors that are not great, IMO youd be ahead to find some GM mirrors for your car.
