Bummer, selling the hood off your car. Is it a factory hood? Any rust in the frame? Is the screen still there? You didn't list a price so it's probably more than I should spend right now. Mine has cracks in the glass but it's very fixable. I'm thinking you said you get up this way now and again. I'm pretty sure I have a decent 1970 metal hood. If you pick it up its free. John

I went to check it out and it is very flimsy with little to no support built into it. There are very raged edges and the thickness of the edges is very uneven, to name a few things. We decided to get the car in there and test fit it which didn't turn out very good either the gaps were horrible. My body shop guy said it would cost an extra $400 just to make it fit somewhat right and that it would still not be perfect. I called glasstek who said that's impossible because there hoods always fit great and thay have never had any complaints, and that my body shop guy doesn't know what he is doing. Which i don't agree with because i've seen his work and he has built many $100,000 cars! I've searched for 2 hours on this sight for other posts on glasstek hoods and haven't found much.

stickw31 has a brand new aftermarket hood for $500,you should check what these sell for.

the price of your hood is in line with what you want for that 442

both prices are higher than either are worth.

My 442 is probably worth 15 as it stands ...

With the mill I will install The price goes back up to 18 ...

My hood fits perfectly and doesn't make noise when you move it, It is a nicer older hood that they don't make any more
...

You should only be so lucky as to own any car I've worked on ...

I'll admit you can find a much nicer chevelle for 13 ...

I don't understand peoples obsession with getting a nice car like that and putting it on a trailer ...

I'm just saying that you will get much for a w than a base model, and that Olds prices are all over the board because of the lack of documentation ...

Basically with a 442 the vin works for the ones that have them...

The w-machines and non vin cars need original sales slips or other supporting documents ...

You can be pretty sure by matching #s and parts with the correct dates but I hear that Oldsmobiles do not have as tight a spread as other GMs'...

Your head might have been made awhile before the block, never after ...

Oh yeh ...

What do you think I should sell the hood for ..?
