1954-56 324 Engine V8
Hello, I have a 1956 Oldsmobile 98 Rocket ,Holliday ,4 door . Jetaway ,Hydramatic transmission 4 speed . Engine 324 5.3 lt. V 8 . Engine number V1370984 , serial number (vin) 569M36291
I need the small block, crankshaft, cylinder heads and the connecting rods. I have seen a motor which number is 563922 which belongs to an Olds 1955 324 V8. According to your experience, do you think this product is suitable for my car and if it would work? Thank you and if you know of something else i would need please let me know. Thanks .Martin.

Are you using the 56 block or the 55? 56 heads are a little better than 55 and will fit, so will the crank and rods I'm assuming you are trying to assemble one good engine out of two. If you are using the 56 or 55 block and 56 heads use the valley cover off the 56 for clearance reasons. Cam is different on the 56. What ever block you use rule of thumb is use the head gasket for the year of block you are using because of oil passages may be different, I don't think this is the case between 55 and 56 though. This is all from memory if I had more time I could verify with the part numbers, let me know if you get hung up on something. Hope this helps some... Lost in the fifties ... Tedd
