A part for my 1984 Olds 98 tilt steering column

I currently have a 1984 tilt steering wheel column with the automatic shifter in the column. I am going to go with a floor mount shifter lever. I am looking for the sleeve without the shifter **** in it. I could also use a sleeve with the shifter **** in it and use it to fabricate what I need. Thank you.

Since 1984 B&C cars did not have a floor shift option I think you'll have to go back to a 1977-79 Delta "Holiday 88" to get such a part.

What you'll run into there is the 84 column uses a combination lever for turn signals, cruise control and wipers. 77-79 wiper switch is on the dash. DK if you can adapt the earlier shift bowl to the later column, and I'm also unsure if the part from a G-body Cutlass floorshift column will work.

But a 1984 Ninety Eight Custom Sports Coupe/Sedan would be a cool car for sure!😎

The G-body part may work. According to the parts book, the 82-86 B-body and G-body shift bowl for tilt wheel column shift columns is the same P/N. That implies that the G-body bowl for floor shift can be retrofitted to the B-body column. Again, this has to come from a G-body tilt column. Non-tilt is different.

The part I need is available. Thank you guys.

I searched the web for the part numbers Joe highlighted for me. The 7836067 steering column shroud

appears to be just what the Doctor ordered. Thank you, Joe.

BTW, don't forget to post pics of your project once you retrofit it to floor shift.
