The car is not equipped with a roll bar, so technically it can't go any quicker than 11.50 (IHRA Sanctioned Track).......but we had a couple of opportunities to dial it up a bit (during some test and tune nights), the best ET that we clicked off was an 11.16 @ roughly 125 MPH. I'm confident with a bit of tuning we could have got it into the 10's

It's really not anything special, Ported "C" heads (with .070" removed from deck surface), Offenhauser Port-O-Sonic intake (port matched to heads), Holley 850, fairly mild mechanical camshaft (don't have the specs in front of me but around .560" lift), 2" primary tube headers (open exhaust), and a converter with a stall speed around 3000 rpm............ If I was looking to get a bit more out of the combination, I would get a little more aggressive with the converter.

And seems to me that the race weight was/is 3970#

Nice and thank you. You always run at Grand Bend? I'm only 40 from TMP.

Anyway, the reason I asked as I'm in the process of purchasing a 1970 W30 tribute/Clone. Car runs 13.60 now with headers on 14" wide ovals. But I want to get this to mid 11 second driver, yet look stock? AND THERE IT IS, problem!

Not sure I want to port the original 1970 F heads and W30 intake? Motor isn't too old, but would pull it and check it over maybe this winter. I'm looking around and seems like I could SELL the F heads and ORIGINAL intake, and get either a different PORTED head, like Speedmasters or some already well ported cast stock casting and repop intake and cut thru that????

3000 stall is by far the most I would want, but what gear did you run?

Yes, we run the "Thunder Series" points program @ GBM.

We are running a 3.91 gear, in the Ralleye Red car.

Raising the stall speed of the converter (from OEM) is where your going to get a lot of the increase in performance from. Get a set of "C", or better yet "E" heads.....and grind the bottom of the "E" off while your porting them, and you'll have what looks to most as the OE heads. In my opinion you will need to concentrate on improving the flow of the intake/head/header combo. take advantage of the port work with more cam (roller preferred), and give it more stall speed, and you should easily be able to achieve your goal.

Thank you. Just about time to make a plan for the fall???

So possibly ported E or C heads or Speedmaster ported by cutlass EFI, W30 intake and port that, street roller cam, 3000 stall and 4.30 gear, gear vendor. Nitto 275 tire.
