[QUOTE=Dan A. Macal;1315866]I have never ran any power adders on any of my stuff EVER. my 66 F 85 ran 9.60`s leaving from a dead idle 373 rear gear and I drove it to work several times. NO electronics, trans brake-NOTHING. When you get done with class racing, maybe you can graduate up to bracket racing. and if you think it`s easier than class racing....show up at the world footbrake challenge in Bristol TN in July. I bet you can`t get past 2 rounds. Everything I ever ever raced, I`ve won in. I just went through all my trophies moving. 296 total wins. 98 with 1 car. Ya know what.....you wouldn`t make it past 2nd round at a normal saturday night bracket race. I like class racing.....atleast until I found out you do it.[/QUOTE
Got it, what did you say that thing weighed? You could be right about the bracket racing, either I do very good or very bad. I don't claim to be a bracket racer, but I do drive and race 9 and 8 sec full weight small tire NA street cars, some with production GM engines. The NA race cars are faster
Can you post some pictures of this "66"

The reason Bill didn't pull it lower is because if a person was to utilize the BT engine to its full potential it would never even see 4700 RPM on a run down the track, plus starting the pull higher would be easier on the mains.

If you think peak tq occurred at 4500 you’re a bigger Dyno idiot than I thought. Unless you pull it beyond the initial high points you really don’t know everything you need to.

This is a fantastic Olds engine. If only there were solid main 403 blocks. Dan's engine proves out what I was hoping for as far as potential of the hated 403. Is there a "light" version of Dan's 478 that started as a 403? I already have a nice 403 in my car, but looking to an upgrade, defiantly not to the extent Dan has done. Good heads, stroker crank, roller cam... I know the crank is a huge piece of the puzzle, but is there a way to keep the block in one piece? Care to share? Dan, Bill, Mark???
TIA

I guess I need to ask Bill about the billet piece $$$ for another.
Keep up the good work.
Edit: We do have two 5 axis CNC and 1 three axis CNC milling centers at work now.

But how would you know that unless you pulled it down that far. You throw out the first and last couple of numbers anyway.
