New 66 race car

Just got this offered to me today. Ready to go minus engine and transmission. Altered wheelbase 1966.

THAT is so cool.
Any history to it?

It needs some Algon Injection for sure.

Car was built for a guy in southern Minnesota. He passed away and this has been sitting in a shop for 4 years. Amazing work done to this car. Yes I'm looking to buy it. Working on logistics now.

I thought it looked pretty fresh. If you decide against it, I'm interested if it is legit (certifiable cage).

That's neat. Almost along the lines of the Lutz & Lundberg car that is now in Curt Andersons inventory.

That is exactly what I thought. Thinking about what drive train to install in it.

Big block 455, Aluminum head, solid lifter roller cam , blueprinted , nitrous injected ought to get her down the track

The obvious choice is a blown 425.

Those Algons aren't exactly growing on trees.

I even have a 66 F-85 parts car to finish it. I hope whoever gets it does it justice.

They are rare, expensive and one would think much harder to get on top off than a single carburetor. Not an ideal set up for a race car.
The car has plenty of swagger already and does not need Algon injectors or a blower. That said the car would look good sporting the injector set up..

I saw an Algon Olds big block full setup at the swap meet in Denver last year but it was priced at $2500…and a little ugly with some mods…

I would have gotten it If the guy would have taken about $1000
