403 Help

So the rings are good to go (a big thanks to billk) and will marry them to the pistons hopefully this weekend. My next question is orientation of the pistons. I went through it getting the rods reconditioned and pistons mounted - so I hope he got it right but I can't remember tangs in or out?

Thanks in advance!!

Pistons go in the block with the notch towards the front. If the rods have oil spit holes, those go towards the cam.

I’ll say it one more time. It doesn’t matter which way the tangs go if you don’t have a squirt hole. The larger chamfered side of the rod ALWAYS goes towards the crank cheek.
If you have squirt holes, then as Joe said, they go towards the cam.

Don't the pistons have to be a little further in the hole?

No I'm running those new air heads - they allow for a super long stroke!!
