#6 heads with 2.00 intake
I just had my heads pulled off by a resto shop locally to have some valves checked out and the mechanic working on the car showed me and told me that the intake valves were 2.00 is this different than the normal intake valves on a 1970 350 cutlass or is it the same because the intake valves im seeing as replacements are smaller.
Any ideas would be great thanks guys.
(had a low popping noise coming out the exhaust sounded like one valve was acting up, timing and carb are down pact)

Maybe its w31 engine. Does it have flat top pistons or the big balancer or aluminum intake ? Just a though. Some of those parts would bring in enough money to build you a very nice stout engine.

how could i look into more detail what the car is? im doing the vin now, for example the previous owner labeled at as a cutlass sx, but its a Cutlass Supreme, so i was never actually told what it was for sure

This is all thinking out there. Maybe down the road someone stuck a w31 engine in there without knowing . It's a possibility lots of these cars ended up in junkyards . It would help you build a stout engine if there where real w31 heads or if it had a w31 intake or balancer because those a big buck items hard to come by that purist would buy if they where the real deal parts. This is where digging into what it is would help. To find out what the engine is you gotta look at the pad under the cylinder head on the front of the engine on the dr. Side.
