I'm almost finished assembling the 425 engine, I wonder if it is right that the manifolds I have painted red.

The factory only had a little overspray on the exhaust manifolds, and no gasket. The paint will burn off after a while anyway.

I used graphite lube to coat my manifolds. I have about 600 miles on the engine now and they still look great with no discoloration.

That is a good idea. I will have to try it the next time I clean and prep exhaust manifolds.
