1968 Toronado W-34
Not really sure what this is, but on Craigslist Sacramento is a 1968 Toronado for sale which has bucket seats and center console. This got my attention as I have read that only the W-34 cars were equipped this way and also that there were only 124 of these built in 1968. I have had a few Toros over the years but am not an expert on these cars by any means so I figured someone here would know the finer points of these cars. I am not looking to buy this but thought that if it is one of only 124 built, maybe someone here would be interested in it.

Buckets with or without console were available on all 1st generation Toronado. Most of the 68 W34 cars I've seen actually had bench seat.
For years, the wisdom as documented by Helen Earley was 111 1968 W34 made. I've been seeing that 124 figure for several years now but no one has produced any hard documentation like Helen had.

Is this is the listing?

If so, the car is almost certainly not a W34. Although the W34 option was available in 68, 69, and 70, in 1968 only, W34 cars got (among other things) a special fresh air intake that included a duct running from the fender (just above the headlight door vacuum tank) to the air cleaner. Because of this, the washer fluid bottle was relocated to the area directly over the driver-side tire. In the photos on the add, you can see the washer bottle in the ordinary toronado location. Here are some photos of where the bottle should be on a real W34:
Incidently, one of the few things my car was not ordered with was buckets and a console.

68 Toronado, body is in excellent condition, was a daily driver, needs engine re-built. Has good transmission, clean title, currently on a non-op. Full electric, bucket seats, center console, hidden headlights. If you are a serious buyer contact James $7000
I have seen one Toronado GT in the wild. It was a 70. Red on red. It too was a bench seat car. Red interior.
