I come across two very small diameter vacuum lines unhooked tucked behind the glove box, 1966 Toronado
Anyone know what there for ID is about as big as a pencil lead

Can you post pics? What color stripes are on the hoses? Does the car have A/C? If so, is it standard or comfortron? Does the car have power locks? A power trunk release? Vacuum lines in that area could be for the vacuum transducer (used on comfortron systems), the inside/ outside air door actuator (used on all A/C systems), other A/C actuators, power trunk release button, or even hoses that fell off the power lock vacuum relay. More information and photos are needed.

Is this a Comfortron car? If so does the Comfortron work? There are three Comfortron components in the area of the glovebox. Here's the vacuum diagram from 1966 CSM:
Note that the diagram shows what color stripe is on each hose. Might help identify what it goes to.

Yes, it narrows the possibilities to all the ones I listed in the second post. The trunk switch is next to the glove box. The comfortron vacuum transducer is mounted on the firewall directly behind the glove box (this has been ruled out since the OP has clarified that his car has regulr A/C). The vacuum relay for the power door locks is mounted in the dash directly above the glovebox. The inside/ outside air door is next to the glovebox behind the kick panel. The other vacuum actuators are mounted on the inside A/C box at various locations behind the dash. Given the description of the size of the hoses, they are probably NOT for the trunk as the trunk switch uses larger (roughly 1/8" ID hoses). The A/C system and power door lock system both use the tiny vacuum hoses described by the OP. While all of the inside A/C vacuum hoses are the small diameter, only those running from the door switches to the relay are small in the power door lock system.

Thanks there are no power door locks
There is a vacuum activate trunk but I found the hose from the trunk and a yelllow striped vacuum supply hose and attached them to the truck release button
The 2 hoses are properly 1/32 to 1/64 id
