Aftermarket wheels for 70GT

Any options here? How about the steel wheels that came on the 66-69?

Thanks for your time,

John

Are you looking for stock or aftermarket, not really following you on this? I suppose you mean for a '70 Cutlass, don't really know of a GT model. The SSII wheels are very popular, they came in 14" and 15" sizes, you should try for the larger size, they will fit and look better. It is sometimes hard to get all the parts such as the trim pieces, center caps and outer trim rings but you should be able to find them with our help. Ebay has sets for sale occasionally too. Let us know what you are looking for and we'll see if we can help out.

70 Toronado

I have a 1970 Toronado GT and the car has full wheel covers(hub caps) I have had no luck in finding aftermarket wheel because no one is making them, I'm told. I'm not that crazy about the wheel covers and was hopeing to find something else...

Cool

I also have a 1970 Toronado GT. And your very right when you say that there are no aftermarket wheels, the only way is to have special wheels made, very exspensive!!!!. The wheels off the 66-69 toronado will fit the 70 toronado, then look for some of what some people call the dog dish hub caps, like a center cap then you will have to find the trim rings. Personaly I don't care for the full wheel covers either. If your lucky enough you might find some factory chrome wheels, you could have the stock ones chromed, but then again I've had a hard time finding anyone to chrome my wheels that is very affordable.

Oldsmobile Rally Wheels

Do any of the other olds wheels work for the 66-70 Toro? What about the 442 Rally wheels? Like these ones on Ebay

Wow, I really feel dumb, sorry, didn't even think about the Toro! Of course. You might check to see if the Caddilac Eldorado had wheels to fit, it was also fwd wasn't it? I think......that car would look very nice with chrome wheels!

Yes it is true that the Eldorado wheels will fit, the only problem is the center where the center cap fits is a different size than those used on the Toronado. I know this because my Toronado had one Eldorado wheel on it. and my oldsmobile center caps would not fit, although it maybe newer than 1970 so you might check on the older Eldorado wheels.

Bummer! I passed on a set of aluminum after market wheels in a bone yard, either Toro or El Dorado. I do have some steel wheels from the 66-70 vintage, what part of the country are you in? John

You wouldn't happen to know where i could get some chrome rims, center caps, dog dish hubcaps, or complete chrome rims. I'm putting them on a 69 toronado
