Maybe a Toronado owner

Maybe a Toronado owner
I've been going back and forth with this car over the last few weeks. It's an amazing car, all original with 24K actual miles. It's an unusual color combination, with the green vinyl top over Covert Beige paint and parchment interior. I think it could easily be a 1 of 1 car. And the icing on the cake is that it's a documented W34 with the original window sticker. The fact that it's so pristine with factory paint, an unusual color combination, and a W34 car punches my hot buttons. I called the seller tonight and after some discussion, made an offer. The seller is a friend of the family who is brokering the sale (a sad story into itself) and will contact the widow of the previous owner the first of the week. He indicated that we most likely have a deal, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Here it is:

Beautiful Toro
Hello Jon442: Love that color combination! Sure hope you have a nice home for it. I am the editor of the Oldsmobile Club of America's Toro/Aurora Chapter and will send you an issue for free just to check us out. You can PM me an address. I have a 67 Toro which is a great car. I owned a 79 loaded Toro for 13 years and loved that car as well. However, they are different cars for sure. The later 83? - 85 models have an overdrive along with 86 - 92 models which help with MPG and get you into a "driver". Regards, Trent in Los Angeles

The onus is on you to prove your claim.
What we know is this:
- The color combination is not unusual as it pairs two Earthtones.
- Over 2,200 W34s built
Combine a set of options with any car and it'll be 1 of 1, some quicker than others.

Way beautiful and RARE W34 Toro
Hi Diego: I think that is the only top that color I have seen. W34. Loaded. That interior color is very unusual. Figure the option combination. Clearly a very rare car. Jon is lucky to be caretaker. Regards, Trent in Los Angeles

The car showed up this evening, and I couldn't be more impressed. It's just as nice as it looks in the photos, and the way it drives is nothing short of amazing. The little bit of lopey ldle is nice, too. I'm very happy with my purchase.

1969 Toro W 34
Hi Jon: This is a great update to get when logging into ClassicOlds!! I am very happy the car runs and looks good up close as is does in the photos. That is such a beautiful color combination, plus W34, plus loaded, and still a new car in many ways. I look forward to pumping you for details off line about the history of the car for a feature in my newsletter. I sure hope you take car of it and it has a nice garage to keep it in new condition. Best Regards, Trent in Los Angeles

Jon, that's excellent that the brackets allow you to use the original mounting points for the seat! I've heard of folks drilling holes in the floor board of a car to mount seats. This is a bad idea since the OE mounting points were designed to take the stress of a collision. Hardware could easily pull through holes drilled in the floorboard during a collision.

Nice Toro
Jon: Great idea for the brackets to have the threaded holes for the extensions and use the original holes in the floor. Don't want to drill new holes i think for a few reasons. Hope it is more comfortable and I know you will enjoy the ride. Regards, Trent in Los Angeles.

Jon, that looks like a good fabrication job on your brackets. There are similar ones at some of the online resto retailers. I am 6'4" and my 4-4-2 was shy on leg room. I added the brackets, and now it feels almost like I can lay down and crash out, my legs have so much room.

That Toronado is in beautiful condition. Everything looks absolutely spot on.... Its really nice to see a first generation window sticker. I was lucky enough that the original owner kept mine as well. It looks like most of the option prices stayed the same from 1968 to 1968...
Here is the window sticker for my 68 Toronado.
