Yah, that rusted pc of crap needs to be parted out
NOT
Location?
Oh well, if so it must be... I have a guy fixing up a '67 right now, works at GM in Lansing, please pm me your contact info so I can get you and him in touch. He needs owner's manual, tail panel, and 100 other things I am sure- interior light lenses, etc. His car was dismantled inside by PO. I sold him a roof panel to solve the giant hole in the roof issue.

I toyed with the idea of buying the whole car as I felt it was too good to part out, but I'd be spreading myself a little thin with other cars I'm working on. I was only looking for an engine at the time. Part of me is happy I stayed focused, but part of me wishes I'd bought it...

info on red car passed along, thanks
Console in Toro is exceedingly rare.
So, no dash PRNDL or shift lug on the column? Or, maybe, 1969+ with backdrive they used the same PRNDSL in the dash and one in the console?

Holy Smokers... its also a bucket seat car! You should have bought the whole car and sold it to someone here as a project car. I've got several Toro 425's and 455's as do many other members here. We could have provided you with a good motor.

Yes I can but I already sent the owner's info to Oceania who has a friend looking for parts. There's like 4 feet of snow here where this car is and where my garage is, so it wouldn't make things easy. But I could definitely buy it. I was just under the impression no one really cared anymore about them.

The owner was keeping the wheels for some obscure reason, along with something else, I don't remember. That engine has B heads so I suppose it was replaced when the car was initially in an accident (I noticed the front clip is a different color inside the engine bay.) Like I said, I wanted the silver car. The red one was an aftertought.

Ask Octaina's friend if he wants the whole car. If you can let him know what options are on it that would help him consider it. Four door cars have little demand, but full sized 2 door cars are a different story. The Toronado's were some pretty cool cars and it looks like this may have some unusual options on it. Tail panel looks like a 1967, correct? If its not rusty it would worth evaluating what's there and the condition its in. I have parted out some rusty Toro's but think this one needs a Toro nut to crawl over it and see just what's on it. My first impression from the photos I'd say it should be saved and restored. But rust is the big question. Would you tell us what state/province its located in?

Car is in Ontario, Canada, about an hour from Ottawa, our capital. Owner is a Toronado nut. However, he is now very sick and must sell his cars. He's hard to get a hold of, his health is such that he doesn't always answer the phone... or the door. He's selling his house and must move. Although the W34 (silver) car is sold, it is still advertised. That would be because someone else is minding the ads for him. The red car, I truly believe should not be parted out. I needed an engine and I knew if I bought the whole car, I'd put it on the road! I bought the engine with the tranny but had no use for the TH425 so I left it there. I do not know what the undercarriage looks like, it's been sitting in the weeds for 2 years. Or more.

Well, if you'd offered the complete car before pulling the engine/transmission I'm sure you could have flipped it and made a good profit. From what I see in the photos, as long as there's not a lot of hidden rust, it has some nice options and would be a really nice car to restore/drive. So at this point I'd still encourage you to try and get the whole car, then offer it to Octaina's friend as a project not a parts car. But please be careful when you handle the parts and not damage anything. It looks to me like the car was pulled by putting a hook in the center of the rear bumper. Mistakes like that can make a nice driver bumper a core bumper that will need straightened and replated. I've purchased a couple parts cars where the owner wasn't gentle with things like trim or interior... parts that I knew were very hard to find were damaged because he had no idea they were of interest to me
My 2 cents worth. John

I hear you. The engine was pulled by a mechanic friend of the owner at that guy's garage. I actually stopped him drom pulling the bumper out like that! I would not think it'd be fair for me to try and cut OC' friend out of this... He probably contacted the owner by now anyways, so he would have first crack. But I think if I was to call the owner and say I'd save the car rather than parting it out, he'd probably favor that. Not sure I would sleep well, though.

OK, I thought he was going through you. But since your local, if he has problems contacting the owner since you've said he is sick and not always responsive, please help him connect and have a shot at getting the car. The car is too nice to wind up in a junk yard...

Just got lucky! He answered the phone. He says he wants the windshield and the rad, the wheels and maybe a thing or two (...) before selling me the car. How hard is it to find a replacement windshield?

If its going to be saved I hate to see any more parts removed from it. But if the floorboards are bad... did the vinyl top rot out the roof? I dismantled a 1967 for that very reason. Whatever you wind up doing keep us in the loop.

WTH does he want to keep parts off it for if he is elderly and in failing health and moving?
Sell it as a complete unit and press on. Windshields rarely extract unbroken. Why do that? Radiator probably has the correct codes and whatnot. Leave the car's parts in/on the car.
My friend says he can get what he needs w/o this car so, no worries there

===================
My friend's Toro had EXACTLY that issue, PO cut the entire roof panel out. Friend bought a roof panel from me. That was some job to extract. Used all my Dewalt batteries.\
Anyone who would put a chain on a bumper needs to not work on valuable stuff. There is a huge leaf spring 6" away from there. Good Lord.
