66 jetaway throttle control plug help

I have switched out my old trans for a recently rebuilt trans but I have an issue where my old trans has a double plug for the kickdown but the other one is a single plug

Is the new transmission another Jetaway with a switch pitch torque converter?

Then you have a problem, they require 2 electric connections. 1 for kickdown and 1 for the switch pitch. Your new transmission maybe a Jetaway from a 1968 car.

You can use it, with a non switch pitch torque converter and wire the kickdown function off your stock switch.

You can do this down by the transmission and just connect the wire that only provides power at WOT. The other wire will provide power at idle and WOT. You can us a 1/4 female spade terminal and heat shrink.

you don't have to eliminate or rewire anything, use the existing harness from switch to trans ,the harness should plug onto the trans using one terminal

^^^This. Just be aware that without the switch pitch function, the car will be even slower off the line.

if it's a non switch pitch trans he's installing he doesn't have much choice, isn't the stall speed different on a non switch pitch?

That was my point. The 1.76:1 first gear in the Junkaway is almost like starting in second gear in a normal trans. The added torque multiplication afforded by the switch pitch mitigates that somewhat. He loses that with the replacement.

If you have it installed, why not try driving it first.
