Go with a TH 400. It is much stronger than the TH350. Remember how much torque that 455 has.

I would rather have a th 400 but I can get the th350 and the stall for three hundred bucks.Sounds to good to be true but we will see I pick it up tomorrow morning.

I've got a friend with a th350 hooked to a 455 with no problems. Just a daily driver mind you.

It really depends how it was built. There are plenty of 350 trannys behind 455's and they hold up just fine. If you plan on lots of burn outs and gear banging then you had better plan on the 400 unless the 350 has been built to withstand the abuse.

3000 stall behind what? If it was another torque monster thats one thing but if it was 3000 behind a 307 it will be a lot higher on a 455.

BBO don't need a lot of converter because of the torque.

Don't buy the transmission. For $300 you can buy a shift kit and aftermarket torque converter from Summit and install it in your transmission on the weekend. Plus, this will allow you to decide exactly what shift kit and torque converter you want.
