TH400 cooler line routing

I am trying to install some trans cooler lines I purchased for my 68 442. The original lines were bent to heck so I decided to replace them. my problem is I can't figure out exactly how they go on. Neither the shop manual or the assembly manual shows it very clearly. I know the bottom connection on the trans is the outlet and goes to the bottom of the radiator. That line I got installed without an issue. The top line doesn't seem to fit right above or below the lower line. at the trans end there is a U shaped bend in the line and it looks like it should come from above inside the lower line, then loop back around it to make the connection but the angle is all wrong. I was hoping someone may have a photo of theirs installed that I could look at.
