1963 Olds 98 trans and diff
#2
There should be an aluminum tag attached to the trans case on the left hand side near where the shifting lever enters the case. Post the two or three letters on the tag an I will be able to tell you more about it.
If you look at the front side of the Diff carrier you will see a single digit stamped on the front of the case at about the 7 o' clock position between the attaching bolts . Post that digit and I can tell you the ratio . If there is an L next to the digit then it is a limited slip (positraction) differential.
The charts to identify the units are also in the 1963 Olds shop manual.
