Kick Down Conversion for 67 442

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to convert from this type of kickdown switch to just a WOT switch? Transmission is a TH400 behind a 455 and a Q-Jet. The problem is that this original switch activates the solenoid on the transmission at only 25% throttle position.

Look here for some alternatives:

Big car switches will swap into your ‘67 and bolt right up. You might check the pinout on your existing switch, there’s something not hooked up right if the kickdown is switching somewhere other than 80% of WOT or so.

The problem is that there are 2 switches in there. One for the kickdown and the other for the switch pitch torque convertor. Is the transmission original to the car and are the connection wired right?

The orange wire is 12v, the white wire sends 12v to activate the kickdown as you approach wide open throttle, and the black wire sends 12v to activate high stall at idle and then again at mid throttle. The wires are in the correct position at the switch but check if they might be switched at the transmission. It is also possible the wires are switched inside the transmission, if so you can get at that side of the connector by dropping the trans oil pan.

There is also some adjustment in that switch. Here is the procedure from the 1967 Chassis Service Manual
