Appreciate everyone's time and any feedback

I'm still running the canister on mine but have installed on other cars filter adapters off of 394 Old's which look exactly like what you have. When you remove your old filter holder look how it is put together should be pretty self explanatory as they are mostly the same with the adapter changing at the canister flange for the twist off filter..

Note.. some aftermarket adapters have been known to seep some from poor machined surfaces make sure everything is especially clean and flat and use a little RTV on block to adapter even though there is a gasket..... Tedd

I had one of these on my 54 and it started leaking like crazy. I replaced it with an adapter from a 394 which took a spin on filter from the factory. Here is one on ebay.

I don't think you will be sorry. It has the provision where your oil pressure gauge hooks up. I have an electric fuel pump on my 54 so I added fittings for a cutoff oil pressure switch for the fuel pump. You will have to make a gasket which is pretty easy. Let us know how it works out.
