Riveting Discussion...'55 Olds and more
School me on rivets.
I bought replacement vent window latches from Danchuck (chevy guys) as they're the same for the Olds.
They come with replacement rivets for where they mount in the vent window frames.
Similarly, I bought the 'replacement rivets' for the wiper arms - the lower arm (base) where it mounts to the wiper transmissions is chrome - the upper "arm" is aluminum. I want to disassemble to have the mounts rechromed and then reassemble with the new rivets.
What tool do I use for these tasks? This is not "pop rivet" stuff.
I'm picturing an anvil with a 'recieving end' for the rivet shank that you peen over with a hammer, or a vice grip type deal...any input is appreciated as always.

Here are some rivet tools on McMaster's site. If you have a lathe you could probably make that tubular rivet tool yourself. But I've no idea what type rivet you are using. Otherwise I'd first look for used on eBay if you can't come up with a solution yourself. Do a test run before the actual installation.
