Location for over flow bottle

Just wondered where the correct location was for an over flow bottle for a 1971 442 455. Where does it go ? Any pics ?

Thanks,
Roger

It's on the passengers side, check with "Allan R" to see if he has a drawing of the correct location and bracket. Do you have a factory setup or repop unit?

There has never been a over flow bottle just a hose. Was looking at the re pops and not sure as my washer bottle is right there. Meanwhile I have hooked up my washer bottle as the over flow as I am trying to keep a little more coolant in my rad to see if it helps with my over heating after highway speeds when I sit at idle.

not sure you should be looking at an overflow tank as help to an overheating problem. You can go to wildaboutcars.com and download the assembly manual for 71 and that will show you where they went. I thought by 71 the 455 came with them but maybe that was 72.

Is your fan working, if it is a clutch fan it may not be engaging enough.
