71 Cutlass headlights housing and bucket - how to ?
I have a 1971 Cutlass Convertible and need to change out the headlamp buckets on the passenger side and I have a few questions.
1. Are the passenger side and drivers side buckets the same (interchangeable) ?
2. To take the headlamp housing off, do I need to drop the front bumper to remove it to get to the buckets ( the plastic around the headlamps)
Thanks in advance
Joe

I believe the buckets would swap from side to side but they are specific for low beam and high beam bulbs. I was able to take the front bolts out of the frame brackets and just let the front bumper swing down towards the ground to get the plastic surround out of the way, keep in mind you will probably need to take the grill out or at least remove the bolts on the sides next to the headlight surrounds, the grill and surrounds basically mesh together.

The buckets are different for high beam and low beam due to the locations of the bulb locating notches and for RH/LH due to the locations of the adjusting screws. There are four different buckets on the car. The aftermarket buckets have notches cut to fit both high beam and low beam bulbs but are still different RH/LH.
