Vinyl top restoration.

Anybody have any recommendations on a good product to use on a black vinyl hard top ? Looking to bring color back and treat it . Tops in good shape just slightly faded. Thanks .

GM's own Preservatone was hands down the best top dressing I ever used but it's no longer made. Dried to a clear, hard water-repellent finish that lasted.

Most reputable car care product companies will have a suitable vinyl dressing. Just look for "acrylic" formulations and stay away from anything containing silicone i.e. Armorall.

I know a couple Cadillac guys who swear by liquid acrylic house floor wax.

I use the 303 Aerospace Protectant on my vinyl top, dash pad, and rubber door and trunk seals.

The right circle on the picture above says, "Restores lost color and luster". I would imagine it's ability to do that is dependant on how faded the top is to begin with.

I have a 87 Delta 88 with the original top. The best thing I've found is Turtle Wax Trim Restorer. Mine is burgundy. Sometimes I have to use a red dye stain to bring the color back but it works well with the Turtle Wax. Still it takes fairly frequent maintenance to keep it looking nice. I use this dye stain for color. https://www.mohawk-finishing.com/pro...ing-ngr-stain/ I know it's not made for that but I'm a furniture refinisher. It usually lasts six months anyway.

Mothers makes a product called "Back to Black". I use it on all my vinyl, rubber and plastic trim. Does a great job.
