Disk conversion; can I use the drum booster?

Here are the details,

On my '66 Toro I have assembled all the parts for a disk conversion using 1969/1970 parts.

I bought a MC that is right for the caliper/drum setup but did not buy a booster at the time.

Will I need a later booster to make the system work properly?

What is the difference between the various boosters? Amount of boost? Pedal travel?

I have never done any work on this part of a brake system before so my experience is nil and my knowledge of the theory of operation is about the same...

The difference is the length of the pushrod between the booster and the M/C. 1966-earlier cars with single circuit brakes used a longer pushrod than cars with dual circuit brakes. Compare the depth of the hole in the end of the piston on the new and old M/Cs and you'll see the difference. It is possible to change the pushrod or cut it down, but I believe this requires the booster to be disassembled.
