1965 Oldsmobile 442 Coil Springs

I just purchased front and rear standard duty coil springs and KYB Gas-A-Just Shock from EATON Detroit Spring, Inc. Has anyone had experience with this supplier and will this give the car a level look or should I have gone with the heavy duty coil springs for the rear. It's not to late to make changes. Thanks, advise is welcome.

I have delt with them before, they are good people. If you call them up and ask them what was the spring oldsmobile used on the car at factory, they should be able to tell you what spring to use for stock configuration. they have all the specs. Don't hesitate to bend their ear on what you expect for a stance on you car. Guy

Did you tell them that it was a 442? if so, you should have the correct springs from them as they were the supplier to the factory back in the day.

Not knowing the specs of the 2 makes it hard to give an opinion.

I spoke to them on the phone and they took down all of the information on the car. The only question that I had was should I go with the heavy duty coils or the standard duty.

Eaton makes standard height springs and springs that are a little taller if you want a little rake to the car go with a taller spring. If I was going to change the springs on my 65 they would be the heavy duty ( less sway in the turns) Front and rear and standard height so the car would sit level. But thats just my opinion which is worth 2 cents. Guy

I'm sorry I cannot help you with that I don't know. On my car I have the correct 775 x 14 tires and rims. You would have to measure off set and some other things. What also may play a part is if you converted to disc. brakes or still have the original drums. Someone on this forum should be able to give you the right info. hope they would chime in to help you out, good luck. Post some pics if you can. Guy
