Chevy 12 bolt axles with the 8.875" ring gear, not Oldsmobile axles. Your for sale photo shows 12 ring gear bolts. The Type O axle only used ten bolts on the ring gear, despite having a 12 bolt cover on the axle housing.

OK, that would be the 9.3" axle used in full size cars. 12 bolt ring gear, 12 bolt cover.

(8)0153 or (3)0153 (hard to tell from crappy casting) is a Pontiac Full size car rear end with a 10 bolt cover, 12 bolt ring and 31 spline bolt in axles.
It is for 2.73, 2.93, 3.08 carrier
The carrier is the early 1965 -1970 - it will have 2 coil spring clutch pack pre load cage.
The (12) ring gear bolts are 7/16 x 20 right hand thread and later switched to left hand thread.
Ring gear is 8.875
Pinion shaft inner bearing diameter is 1.875
with 28 spline yoke.
These 10 bolt cover rears were used in Pontiac and lower powered Oldsmobile full size cars.

9.3 is also the 1966-70 Type O axle used in full size Oldsmobiles, completely unrelated to the 57-64 axle. In any case, per Monaz that does not apply to this carrier.

good point and info sir

I had not been under the 65-70 Olds B cars in person , all my expertise and experience of B car rears were Pont B cars of the era , besides A body type O and A/F Corp 8.5 and A/F BOP 8.2 and A/F Type C 12 bolt stuff

Just to add to this info the 9.3 olds (I think the even labeled the integral 9.3 as 9.375 ..?? But it was used in the 1965-1976 era (12 bolt cover and 12 bolt ring ) 31 spline bolt in axles.
In 1971 - 1976 this huge car rear was designated for the 455 cars in all the Buick, Olds and Pontiac ...Chevy was left out as it was CHEVY...lol. I think the biggest rear that Chevy got was the PONTIAC 8.875 10 bolt cover / 12 bolt ring in wagons and 454 cars...Which was still pretty stout rear. same 31 spline axles as the 12 Olds 9.3 / 9.375 rear.
in 1971-1976 (will call it corp era GM) the pinion yoke was also change from 28 spline to 30 spline in ALL rears and used the Round coupler with four bolts to a double cardan u joint on the back of the drive shaft. You could swap all the 8.5 10 bolt 12 bolt olds 9.3 and the 8.875 complete drum to drum rears with out any other mods to the drive line.
Just more useless info to this post...lol. Take it of leave it.
I would rather it be there for reference way down the road some day.
