What would be the cost to get new gears, Posi, and install kit for this rear end? I have a Chevy 10 bolt 8.2, is it worth building? I know it’s cheaper but afraid it might fall apart. I’ll pm the expert later.

Check SupercarsUnlimited for a price on their posi (be sure to get the right one for the housing you have......28 vs 32 spline axles and the gears you use). The only new gears available are Richmond, check Jegs or Summit Racing. IIRC, I had nearly $3K in my rear rebuild back in '06, but that included new UCAs, LCAs, brake lines, brakes, a W27 cover etc. You'll likely have less invested in that 10-bolt and have more choices in gear ratios since parts are easier to find.

I just recently spent 2700 on gears ( Yukon), kit and shop install / swap into my 68 O type. I'm in Minnesota
