Still No Clarification

O.K. I ordered a drive shaft today from the parts place and now again I am not sure if I ordered the right one. Why is this so difficult? It is a 1969 olds 442 W30 4 speed there shouldn't be 14 choices of u joints and yokes! I need to know is it a 1310 or a 1330 front and rear with clips inside or out? There has to be someone out there that can answer that so I can order what I need.

It is neither. The Olds used the 3R u-joints in the front & back. They make transmission yokes for all types of u-joints,and they make the 3R. That driveshaft would also be the same length as a 68-70 with TH350 and the O-axle because the small output 4-spds have the same length as the TH350.

That is odd considering all the parts books say the 3r started later as in mid seventies. My 84 h/o has 3r joints but either way that isn't one of the choices.

I've owned plenty if them, and they came with the 3R. They also used the 3R on the mid60's BOP 8.2" 10-bolt rears.
The 1310 & 1330 were the Chevelle joints.

Thanks, you are 100% right. I finally read the GM parts book and Saginaw 3r front and rear. Last question, 55.5" or 56" center of u joint to center of other joint for a length?
