Ash tray bulb replace ?
I have a 1971 Cutlass Supreme convertible that I am working on. There is a bulb that illuminates the ash tray, but I cannot see how to access it to replace it?
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks in advance

I recall removing mine before I had a PIM. IIRC, I had the glove box removed at the time because I was rebuilding it and therefore could get in there to view it better. You might be able to get underneath the dash and reach up to get to it. The lamp holder is removed from the backside. Hope this diagram might help to visualize it for you. Having a mirror and flashlight in hand will help you to view it's location much easier.

I believe the lamp HOLDER is riveted to a metal ground strap that is also riveted to the ash tray area plastic. You'll need to twist the lower part of the lamp holder (the part the wire runs into) to separate it and allow you to access the lamp/bulb socket.
See pic below showing the lamp socket/holder once removed from the other metal part of this lamp assembly (pic taken from a '70 Cutlass/442/etc dash wiring harness....same ashtray bulb/lamp setup as your car:
