Picture of am/fm Radio?
#5
Thanks. I'm trying to figure out what ***** are behind the main ***** (volume/tuner). I bought a radio and it appears the secondary ***** and the am/fm toggle switch are not correct. Yes, if you can send a clearer pic of them I would appreciate it.

Left side is Volume/bass/treble, Right side is Fade front/rear (or nothing if your radio isn't equipped for rear speake)
There are also little 'wave' washers that go between the main ***** and bottom controls. Most radios are missing these, but you can pick them up cheap at places like Home Depot or parts supply. They look like these (not to scale - just for image)

Just saw your pics, Al. Do the "Music" and the "Speakers" plates move? If not, do you push the front ***** in to adjust or is there secondary ***** between the front ***** and the rear plates?

Yes the ones in the back do move, but they do not spin they have a stop, in other words is like they have three settings, if it's in the middle you can turn it left and it stops and if you turn it right it will stop on that setting.. And the small ***** are volume left and station tuner on the right.. Can you post a picture of your radio

The large **** on the right looks correct for that radio but it should go on the left side and the small one on the left side ofcours it's not correct it's probably doing the jod, I'm sure multiple ***** will fit this radio but if you're looking for originality you just need to find that one that is missing and like Allan said it comes down to your radio if it has the front and rear speaker option, have you tried to power up the radio ? Did you get any sound

Thanks. The info and pics you guys attached have really helped me out! I'm going to contact the guy I bought it from to see if he has the larger ****. He has several radios and will probably help me out. I'm going for the original stock look. I haven't tried to get sound from it yet. My car has the factory 8-track player so hopefully I can get both hooked up and working so I can enjoy crappy sound.

Awww, the sound isn't all that crappy especially if you have the AM/FM Stereo option. Just the AM will sound tinny. With that radio you MUST run 10 ohm speakers. The front one is already in the dash and is the same with all the Cutlass line. The rear is a 6x9.
Want a really good way to clean those *****?? Seriously I found this out by accident. I left on in my coveralls and washed them. The soapy water and gentle scrub of the fabric made it gleam like new. It will NOT take off pitting, but if you have just accumulated grime? Put them in an old sock, fold it back on itself so it can't fall out and throw them in the wash.
