It's always a good idea to test tail light, bumper and window trim, doors etc before welding on the quarter .

I test fit the taillights and window trim the bumper I’ll mess with this weekend, I will say though these nos quarters fit so tight there is only a little play by the trunk gasket channel and maybe 1/8 of adjustment by the doors. Everything fits perfectly, the quarters were expensive but definitely worth it

It’s been a minute since I posted any progress I’ve got the passenger side quarter weld on and I’m working on the package tray piece that connects quarters and trunk not sure what that piece is called. As I m going through the metal work I’m always continuing to buy parts and trying to look ahead, I’m currently looking for 2 14x6 ss1 wheels in mint condition or nos for drum brakes. If anyone knows of any please contact me. Here’s a couple pics. I did test fit taillights and bumper and everything fit great

"dutchman's panel"

https://www.opgi.com/sheet-metal-bod...t-ch25502.html

Oops disregard. I jumped the gun. A 68-72 does not have a dutchman on the coupe.
Still looks like a used piece is the only option.

Well whatever that panel is called I got it at Ron s house off a parts car. With spring pretty much here I’ve been working on the honey do list lately. I did manage to wire wheel and clean inside of the car, also got the manual trans hole welded in place. Today with the nice weather I got the cars outside and added 28 more lights to my shop ceiling. Next thing in line is to clean up some plug welds and star prepping the car to spray epoxy on everything. I used Eastwood rattle can epoxy on the roof but will be spraying everything else. My goal is to have everything in epoxy by the end of May. I have to build a deck for the wife between now and then as well.

I haven’t posted anything in a minute so here’s a quick update, I dropped off my transmission to be rebuilt this week and I’m dropping off the rearend next week to be rebuilt. My brother and I are going out to Ron’s place on Friday to pick up some more goodies, I’ll post pics when I get back. As far as the car goes I started stripping panels to get ready for epoxy I started with the roof since it had the most amount of work involved. I’m using an orbital sander, 40 grit and 80 grit paper. Once I’m done with that I’ll use an etching acid from Eastwood then a rust inhibitor then epoxy. The other panels are gonna be easy to strip. I bought this product called after blast from Eastwood, it seals the raw metal for couple weeks before you spray epoxy

Happy Easter everyone, my brother and I made the trip to Indiana and I scored a lot of great parts. Everything I got was NOS.
- clutch fan
- 2 driver side mirrors
- oaiair scoops
- tail pipes with chrome tips welded on
- 14x6 wheels with center caps and retainers
- a set of front fenders in the box with a packing list to Berejik Motors
- set of oai hoses
I ended up getting 5 14x6 wheels 3 are drum brake 2 are disc brake im looking for 2 drum brake wheels in mint condition or NOS, i would trade my 2 disc brake ones or just buy whatever works

The tailpipes and scoops was really cool to get both are hard to find so are the fenders, but its crazy that the tail pipes made it 40 years being stored.

I also got the correct 933 distributor from Dave 442 and that’s off to get restored.

I picked up a really nice trunk lid from Ron on Friday, it was from a cutlass with a vinyl top so tonight I cut the tabs off and welded in the holes
