Vortec Headed 355

My son was able to get to the track with his 355 Camaro recently, very similar type of build as Copper Cutlass's type of build but the Chevrolet version. His combination used a unported L31 Vortec head, 1.940/1.500 valves, .435/.460 lift hyd flat tappet cam, with a Diamond dished piston. Intake was a Vortec Super Victor with a 750 Holley. Track conditions were: 98 degrees, 120 grains of water, 29.20 barometer, 3200 feet DA, I was very happy with his first outing. Its worth pointing out the Vortec headed 350 can be be a stout low dollar power maker for sure. This fall when he can get into some very good conditions I will report back. 1/8 mile times. BTW running weight is a light weight 3200 pounds.

1.373 60 foot
6.81 660
97.5. MPH

Vortecs have a reputation of being able to handle some compression with only pump gas so why a dish with only 355 cubes ? I guess I should inquire what the actual compression is and perhaps I'll have my answer !? What fuel is he on ?
Definitely respectable times, what would be your/his next change on this engine - if any, or the car ?

This Camaro was built to run in IHRA G/CM class. G crate is: the GM performance 330 HP Vortec headed 350, it must use the factory type piston which has a dish. The cam must also be factory lift which is .435/.460 hyd flat tappet.

UPDATE

Had the Camaro out Sunday, went 10.79 @ 121.39 with a horrible 1.42 60, 7700 RPM through the lights, new tires next, looking for 10.60s, trans overhaul then 10.5s.

That's a lot of steam! As a 4th gen owner, I'm curious - what is the suspension setup?
