Went and looked at the work on the 51-98

Went to the shop doing the 51 -98 as all the doors and trunk are fitted. Has taken forever but starting to look like the end is coming at some point.

Looks like a lot of work has been done, but alot of work is left to do. Looks good so far.

Yea, a ton of body work, new rockers, floors, roof swap and couple NOS fenders. Plus a Detroit Speed IFS, 4-link Currie Rear, coilovers, LS3 GM connect and cruse kit.
Will be a new 51 when it's done, just taking forever. Going to keep it stock looking inside and out just upgraded materials.

That is going to be a real sleeper for a 51 98 four door sedan. With all the body work you had to do I am curious why a 4 door sedan. I think it is great but most folks would not do that for a 4 door.

I can think of a reason, should you have to ride in the back seat in a coupe with bad knees it's hard to have a good time when you are miserable. The in and out is a ordeal and the leg room is limited. Just a thought....Tedd

It was my wife's grandfather's car, she is the second owner. When he retired in 1951 for the University of Wisconsin his class gave him the 51. That's her grandparents, the time it was given to them.
Plus we like 4 doors, everybody has a 2 door.

Great story and a great reason to restore the car. Enjoy.

Looks like it will be a great fun car when completed. Just curious what the plans for the paint scheme are?

Received pics of the Frame today, going over to take a look on Sunday. Hope to get the body painted within the next few months.
As most projects this is taking forever.

Picked up the chassis for the 51 from Kev's Classics for a couple of months which the body is on the rotisserie. It really came out nice.
