That's a cool piece, does it work? If it were closer I'd have it.

Not if I got there first!😍

I like. But I don't use the equipment I already have enough to justify having that gorgeous piece of garage equipment.

We had a similar Marquette analyzer when I was in auto-tech school back in mid 70s. I loved that thing. I tried to get the Sun distributor machine the school had when the Virginia community college system obsoleted it, but they hauled the thing to Richmond and put it up for auction. I could not get the time off to go.

Big Thanks to bw1339 for safe delivery.

Powered up and blew the fuse when messing with some dials. put a new fuse in today seems ok.
Can't wait to try it out may have to test it out on my 69 with the 6 banger.

Analyzer in its new home.

Unfortunately, the unit keeps blowing fuses, does anyone have any experience with one of these?

Thanks

Tim

Very cool piece. That would look right at home in any man cave / garage.

If it keeps blowing fuses get your DVOM and start testing for a short in the fused circuit. Good luck!

Hi,
I was searching around for an Atlas Analyzer like you apparently have. I purchased one about a year ago and am still trying to get the scope to work. I think it could be the coil or plug pickup & cable. Do you still have this or know if it’s available? I just happened onto this thread.
Would love to know if I could find parts.
Thanks,
Philip

Still have it.
Not looking to part it out.
I haven't spent much time diagnosing.
Couldn't find an easy way in.
Do you need to take the whole top section off to get access to the circuits?

I have no experience with that particular device (beautiful by the way) but you mentioned "fuses" so that suggests multiple circuits are involved and that would complicate troubleshooting. I would first remove all the fuses except the main (if it has one). And check the power supply for correct voltages and current draw. This assumes you can do electronic troubleshooting. If you can't you would probably be safest to find someone who can. If you do that, the person will probably want a schematic of the unit so you should probably do an interweb search for that. It would make the job a lot easier.

Think there is only one fuse.
I just have to spend some time to start. not a simple access panel.
I think I have to remove the entire head unit and find a way in from there.
MY google fu comes up nearly empty for anyone repairing/ troubleshooting these things.

Well one fuse simplifies it a lot but you still need someone who can troubleshoot that for you. Search for people who also do old stereo equipment, televisions (high voltage for the cathode ray tube), jukeboxes and pinball machines. Any of those people would have enough knowledge to to troubleshoot that thing as well, at least the power supply.

1st, if you decide to sell it, whole, let me know. I could be interested. To answer your questions: There is only one fuse. The entire FRONT has to come out to get access to anything. Top hood, then front panel bulbs and will need to bend the contacts to clear when you putt it out forward. I have to look at mine, but I think there are screws under the front. Inside the bottom panel there is a wire schematic. There are also several vacuum tubes. Have fun finding them if any are bad. Let me know how you make out (OR WANT TO SELL IT) Or if anyone here knows of one or parts.
THANKS,
PHILIP

Ok I never thought of it but that makes sense that something that age would have vacuum tubes and it would be difficult to find them. I read someplace that you can still find them in Russia though. If the schematic is inside a bottom panel that would be great.

Tim, try contacting Mark Saunders at mdsaunders@sbcglobal.net.

Mark is quite involved with Sun diagnostic equipment, but may be helpful with the piece of equipment you have.

Hope this helps......

Tim, I don't know where you are located but you could probably find vacuum tubes and parts for your engine analyzer here.

Atlas engine analyzer

Tim,
I've been trying to contact you about your Atlas analyzer. I have an AMA 12 unit and was wondering if you still have your unit. I. have a number of cables that may fit yours.

I just bought an AMA-8. Some of the leads are pretty messed up. If you have some, I'm interested. Please let me know. Dave

Dave,

Where are you located? I'm in Maryland. I could email you some pictures to see if I have what you might need. Or talk on the phone. Just send me your email address. John

. Any luck with finding any cables? I'm still working on my AMA 12. Looking for the probe that fits the combustion analyzer portion of machine. Yours has the same unit with the CO/HO and vacuum gauge.

Here is my unit. Would really like to get it fully functional for my shop! John

You could always try to find a wiring schematic here.
