A/C tech question

A/C tech question
Has anyone redone their entire old school R12 system to bring it back to stock and then used R12 and mineral oil like in the originals? I am cleaning all my Olds stuff out that will never be used and found this stash.
It would be really nice to redo all of the stock style components and make the A/C work like it was originally. I just don't know if I can tackle this job. I have gauges, but no adapters for R12 (I wonder if they're available?). I have a really nice vacuum pump, but no adapters. I think the original system used like 4lbs so I have enough to do this 2.5 times. Are stock style compressors still available that will work with the R12? That is, are they still designed like original or have them been redesigned to account for the differences in the likes of R134?
Anyone done a redo of a whole system and done it back to R12?

The factory style compressor is the same when using R-134A. When I replaced mine, there was a tag indicating which oil to use with either R12 or R134A. That should be the only difference.
I would think you should be able to find adapters, but I have not gone that way so not 100% sure. My gauges are R12 and I got adapters to use them on R134A systems.
Charging an R12 or R134A system is essentially the same, just different connectors on the hoses and different can taps.
